INDIA, Post-Mauryan (Punjab). Mitra Kings. Bhanumitra, circa 150-100 BC. AE (Bronze, 19 mm, 4.21 g, 1 h). RANO BHANUMITASA ('of King Bhanumitra' in Kharoshti) Elephant advancing left with trunk raised. Rev. Male figure (Lord Mahakal?) standing front, head to left, draped around the waist, holding staff in his right hand and kalasha (sacred pot) in his left; to right, river symbol; around legend in Kharoshti. BMC pl. XLIII, no. 2. Very rare. Corroded, otherwise, about very fine.
